Chapter 6.9.1: The organs of the Five Elements send energy to each other in a clockwise (nourishing) direction. Water nourishes Wood, Wood feeds Fire, Fire creates Earth, Earth bears Metal, Metal generates Water.
The Nourishing Cycle
Two parallel circles — one between Yin Organs and another between Yang Organs. Energy flows from Mother to Son. When the Mother is deficient, the Son cannot be nourished. When the Son is in excess, energy may not flow from the Mother.
Tonification on Mother-Son Cycle
The Mother point (Tonification point) receives energy from the Mother organ. Every organ has a Mother point — the best Tonification point.
Sedation on Mother-Son Cycle
If an organ has excess, it should send the excess to its Son. Sedate the Son point (Water point of the meridian, or the Sedation point). The Sedation point sends more of the 'house energy' (90:10 ratio).
Key Principles
Element Cycle Interactor
Water→Wood→Fire→Earth→Metal. Energy nourishes the Son. Mother points tonify.
Fire
→ Son: Earthfireearth(Fire creates Earth (ash))
woodfire
Which generating cycle do you feel most — which element feeds you? Where in your body do you feel tonification needed?
