The 7 Bodies & Multidimensional Cosmology

The complete cartography of our radiant bodies and the 24-dimensional solar system.

The Seven Radiant Bodies

We are composed of seven bodies. The first is the physical body; the other six are well-defined subtle bodies that, for certain initiates, can radiate out up to several kilometres. The first three after the physical (etheric, astral, mental) incorporate our personality and disappear after death. The other three (causal, buddhic, atmic) are our spiritual bodies β€” they remain after death and incorporate what we call the soul and the spirit.

1

Physical Body

The dense, material body β€” the temple in which all other bodies operate.

πŸ“‘ 0 (the body itself)Type: physical
2

Etheric Body

Also: Energetic Body, Vital Body

The most dense of the subtle bodies. It feeds the physical body by absorbing vital energy through meridians, channels, and chakras. It is intimately linked to the physical body and cannot be separated from it. It is the first body sensed when studying clairsentience.

πŸ“‘ 1.5m - 3m from the physical bodyType: personality

Function: Absorbs and distributes vital energy to the physical body

3

Astral Body

Also: Body of Passion, Emotional Body

The coloured reflection of our emotions. It is the home of sensations and emotions, where fears and anxieties are stored. It can remove itself from other bodies to travel in the astral world, sometimes in dreams and sometimes consciously. Produced by the pancreas, coloured by the solar plexus. It acts on the etheric body, sometimes creating emotional blockages.

πŸ“‘ 3m - 15m from the physical bodyType: personality

Function: Houses emotions, sensations, fears; can astral travel

4

Mental Body

The home of thoughts, ideas, and reasoning. It feeds intelligence with concrete ideas. It can be polluted by negative thoughts, conditioning, or received ideas. Created by the brain β€” its physical part may be perceived by the electroencephalogram.

πŸ“‘ Up to 30mType: personality

Function: Houses thoughts, ideas, reasoning; can be polluted by conditioning

5

Causal Body

Also: Superior Mental

The receptacle of archetypes and highest truths. The source of abstract thoughts. Here are stored the causes responsible for our existence and our mission in life β€” our karma (debts and advantages), beliefs, wishes, and oaths. The realisation of this body enables us to understand the events of our life and how to transform them. It is the body of wisdom and omniscience β€” the level upon which meditation acts directly.

Type: spiritual

Function: Stores karma, life mission, archetypes; body of wisdom

6

Buddhic Body

The level of supra-mental consciousness that organises connections and relationships between all things. The body of unconditional love, awakening, and spiritual illumination. It allows the spirit to descend into matter. At this level are found the Merkaba, the Torus, the Fahoky system, and the spiritual chakras (Imrah, ThorΓ l, NaxΓ l, Estar, Γ‰repsus). It is the space that receives the initiations.

Type: spiritual

Function: Unconditional love, spiritual illumination; houses internal systems and initiations

7

Atmic Body

Our divine part β€” the body of the all-powerful, the consciousness of unity.

Type: spiritual

Function: Divine consciousness, unity consciousness

The 24-Dimensional Solar System

Our solar system is divided into twenty-four dimensions. The majority of invisible beings live within one or several of these dimensions. The table below maps the correspondences between dimensional levels, esoteric planes, incarnations, and the beings found at each level.

Dimensional Notes

  • The even-numbered dimensions that are missing are the transition dimensions that allow us to pass from one dimension to another β€” here we also meet negative presences. The lower astral is found in the 4th dimension.
  • Exception: the 24th, 48th, and 72nd dimensions where we meet only positive beings.
  • The 13th dimension is the highest in which we find animal, vegetal, and mineral spirits β€” the astral plane overlaps the mental plane here.
  • The soul is situated in the causal plane; the spirit in the atmic plane. They are separated by the buddhic plane β€” where initiations and internal systems work toward the unification of soul and spirit.

The Four-Level System

A simplified system divides the human into four levels: body, personality, soul, and spirit. The soul is situated in the causal plane; the spirit in the atmic plane. They are separated by the buddhic plane β€” where initiations and internal systems work toward the unification of soul and spirit.

Know Thyself

The temple of Delphi maxim β€” "Know thyself and you will know the universe and the Gods" β€” takes on new meaning: to understand the invisible world, one must first know one's own invisible world, that is to say our subtle bodies and their surprising capacities. The subtle bodies are in perpetual movement, permanently reacting and adapting to new external and internal conditions in our lives.
