The Dying Process

What happens in the human energy field during death — observations and guidance for supporting the dying.

Death Is a Change of Form

"You are not a slave to three dimensions nor to the so-called arrow of time, relentlessly moving forward toward your so-called death. Death is simply a change of form, a letting go to an expansion of being."

— Heyoan

The Western vs. Eastern View

In the West, many want a fast, painless death — to get it over with, to not be present. But from Brennan's observations of the HEF during and after death, this approach misses something important. What happens in the field at death requires time and presence.

In the East, they pray for a slow death. This gives the person time to adjust to the process. There is wisdom in this — the dying process is a transition, not an event to rush through.

The Silver Cord

A "silver cord" connects the astral body (fourth-level HEF) and higher spiritual levels to the physical body. In astral travel, the lower three levels stay with the body while the fourth-level body travels. The silver cord keeps the connection.

Brennan observed that the silver cord bifurcates about a foot outside the skin:

  • • One cord inserts into the brain — at the center where the tips of the seventh and sixth chakras meet in the third ventricle
  • • The other inserts into the heart — upper posterior area, near the crux of the heart

During heart transplant surgery, the cord is disconnected at the heart end only — it should be properly reinserted by a healer afterward. In physical death, the cord disconnects from both insertions.

What Happens in the HEF During Dying

  • • The person is half in, half out of the body — waking with a startle, looking around, then settling back
  • • Breath changes to Cheyne-Stokes respiration — alternating deep and shallow breathing
  • • The field slowly separates from the physical body, often beginning at the feet and moving upward
  • • The person becomes less oriented to physical reality and more oriented to the fourth-level reality
  • • As the person leaves the body, white light can be pushed up the vertical power current to assist a clean departure
  • • The "deafening silence" follows the moment of departure

Brennan's Mother's Death

Brennan's mother died slowly "from the feet up." Day after day, Brennan and her sister sat with her. People came to give love, respect, and thanks. Her mother endured the pain, remaining half here, half there.

Her breath changed to Cheyne-Stokes respiration. Brennan kept asking, "Where are her sisters? Why haven't they come?" She expected them to hover around the bedside.

Finally, her mother turned her head toward Brennan and her sister, looked deeply into their eyes. A tear rolled from each eye. She turned her head toward the heavens and left as her (deceased) sisters "swooped down to help her away." Brennan pushed white light up her vertical power current to assist the clean departure.

"Then came the deafening silence. We sat there in silence, honoring and touching her body with love and gratitude."

The Tunnel Test — Brennan's Experience

Brennan personally experienced leaving the body during her "tunnel test." She felt a strong force pulling her out as her healing teacher and Sai Baba pulled her out. She went up the vertical power current.

"I could feel/hear the wind blowing inside me as I rushed out of my physical body. I felt it on the inside of my eardrums, but it was different from a normal wind, because I was the wind that was blowing on my eardrums from my inside!"

This personal experience helped her describe to dying clients what it would feel like to leave the body — reducing their fear of the unknown.

How to Support the Dying

Be Present

Your loving, accepting presence is the greatest gift. Don't try to fix or change the process — be with it.

Encourage Them to Let Go

When they look at you, hold their gaze with love. Let them know it's okay to go.

Assist Energetically

If you know how, push white light up their vertical power current to help their departure. Hold a calm, loving state.

Receive Their Wisdom

The dying often try to share distilled knowledge through relational cords. Open yourself to receive what they have learned.

Honor the Silence

After death, sit in reverence and gratitude. The silence is sacred. Don't rush to fill it.

Don't Hold Them Back

If they're ready to go, love them enough to let them leave. Clinging out of grief can make their transition harder.

What the Dying Experience

Based on Brennan's observations and channeling, the dying experience:

  • • Gradual separation from the physical body
  • • The silver cord disconnecting from its two insertions
  • • Movement up the vertical power current
  • • A sense of wind or rushing (being "the wind")
  • • Encounters with deceased loved ones who come to help
  • • A transition into the fourth-level reality (the astral world)
  • • Later: movement toward the light and higher spiritual levels

Post-Death Visits

The recently deceased often visit loved ones to:

  • • Say goodbye
  • • Share distilled wisdom from their lifetime (through relational cords)
  • • Reassure the living that they are okay
  • • Complete unfinished relationship business
  • • Ask for help if they are lost or confused

Brennan's colleague Carol's mother visited after death to share distilled knowledge through their heart cord connections. Carol opened herself to receive, and clear consciousness flowed from mother to daughter.

The Dying Process

Stage 1

Physical Release

The physical body ceases functioning. The HEF begins to separate from the physical form.

Indicators

  • •Breathing slows and stops
  • •HEF begins to lift away from body
  • •Silver cord still connects HEF to body
