Triple Warmer Meridian (TW)

Hand Lesser Yang · Fire (Minister) Element · Coupled with Pericardium

Pathway

Begins at ulnar side of ring finger nail (TW 1), flows to dorsum of wrist, to olecranon, to lateral side of shoulder, along trapezius to base of ear. Follows closely around ear from base to top, finishes at lateral end of eyebrow (TW 23). Inner branch: to Pericardium and three warmers. Auricular branch enters ear, connects with GB 1 at temple.

The Triple Warmer Concept

The sixth Yang organ — the whole interior of the body, divided into three parts: Upper Warmer (above diaphragm: Heart, Lung), Middle Warmer (Spleen, Stomach, Liver, Gall Bladder, intestines — compared to a cooking pot), and Lower Warmer (Kidney, urinary and reproductive systems — compared to the fire that cooks the pot).

Key Points

TW 6 and TW 8 for Gall Bladder Pain

Both used with sedation for acute pain in Gall Bladder meridian (same polarity of energy — sedating one works for the other). TW is son organ of GB — sedating son causes sedation of Mother organ too.

Reflect

Are your three warmers (upper, middle, lower) communicating or disconnected? What feels out of sync between head, gut, and lower body?
