Guidance

Settle into a comfortable position. Take a few deep breaths. Begin with yourself. Silently repeat: May I be safe. May I be healthy. May I be at peace. Now bring to mind someone you love. Repeat: May you be safe. May you be healthy. May you be at peace. Bring to mind a neutral person — someone you see but do not know well. Offer the same wishes. If you are ready, bring to mind someone difficult. Offer the same wishes, without forcing. Finally, extend to all beings everywhere: May all be safe. May all be healthy. May all be at peace. Rest in this feeling of expanded care.
