Passive vs. active establishment, the 4 factors, trade references, divisions, stacking strategies, and proven techniques for rapid credit building.
Passive vs. Active Establishment
Passive
From day to day, as your business operates and grows, you're building your credit profile — whether you know it or not. Large companies, credit card companies, utilities, and government agencies report your payment history automatically.
Active
Utilizing proven strategies to improve your profile. Many try to build corporate credit on their own and fail because they don't know the proper steps. This is not a get-rich-quick scheme — have a plan for the money.
The 4 Factors of Corporate Credit
1. Pay Your Bills on Time
The single most important factor — direct impact on Paydex. Set up automated payment for all regular bills. Pay 10+ days before due date.
2. Strong Balance Sheet
Assets exceeding liabilities. Retain cash, wait to write off bad receivables, manage inventory, lease rather than purchase equipment. Your balance sheet directly reflects your Duns Rating.
3. Strong Business Image & Presence
Follow all 7 steps. Be in compliance with the lending market and organized.
4. Stay Out of Legal Trouble
Avoid lawsuits and fraudulent activity. Work with good legal team and insurance agents. Follow all formalities to prevent piercing the corporate veil.

Paydex 86
Paydex 80+ — excellent. Banks see you as a reliable borrower.
Trade References
Trade references are the foundation of your D&B profile. Here's what you need to know:
D&B Credit Builder Program
If trade references aren't reporting, D&B offers two options: 30 days for 6 trade references ($549), or 12 months for unlimited references ($799).
Establishing Credit with Divisions
Open multiple DBAs (Doing Business As) under your parent corporation. Each division can reference the parent's credit and adds protection — like pawns protecting the King and Queen on a chess board.
How It Works
Trade creditors extend credit to divisions. Cash creditors do NOT — to get cash credit with a division, you must incorporate it and get its own EIN.
Business Loan Stacking Strategy
Use the same corporation to apply for several loans in $100K-$250K increments. With a credit-worthy officer, a corporation can generate millions on demand.
The Round Robin
Remember: whatever you use must be paid back. Use money wisely — for investment purposes only.
Obtaining Higher Credit Card Limits
When applying for a credit card and asked about balance transfers:
Lower Your Interest Rate — The Script
Call your credit card company and own the conversation:
You: "Hi, I'm ___ from [company]. We're planning a large purchase and I called to find out our credit limit."
You: "What is the maximum amount of credit you can give me today? I'd like a limit of $100,000."
You: "We made [double the amount you're requesting]. We expect to make [25% more than last year]."
You: "How much of an increase can you give me today?"
You: "Now that we've adjusted my limit, what is my current rate? What is the rate for new applicants? May I get that rate?"
You: "Can you give me access to credit card checks at the lowest interest rate? Would you check if I have any annual fees? Could you have them removed?"
If they say no, ask for a supervisor. If the supervisor says no, ask if fees have EVER been removed for anyone — credit card companies cannot legally discriminate.

Back Door Financing
Pull your creditor's and suppliers' business credit reports. Cut out the middle man. If a supplier sells widgets at $100 but purchases them from a manufacturer at $40, you can pull their D&B to find their suppliers and go direct.
