Speed Reading

Eliminate subvocalization โ€” stop saying words in your head. Train your brain to process words as visual pictures, not sounds. Boost reading speed, memory, and cognitive processing.

Subvocalization is the habit of silently "saying" each word in your head as you read. It limits your reading speed to your speaking speed (~250 WPM). These drills train your brain to recognize words as visual pictures instead, unlocking much faster reading with strong comprehension.

Evidence note: Improving eye movement efficiency and reducing regressions genuinely improves reading speed. However, comprehension typically declines above 500โ€“700 WPM. Some subvocalization is normal and healthy โ€” the goal is reduction, not total elimination, for optimal comprehension.

What words-per-minute did you reach? How did chunk size affect your comprehension?
